For the further development of our Trucking Unit in Oradea (Romania), we are looking for an International Dispatcher (m/f/d).
Job Summary: we are looking for a dispatcher to join our transport company that specializes in XTL transport. The dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation of goods and drivers across different locations. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as a thorough knowledge of the legal driving times and regulations.
- Manage driver changes and assign drivers to vehicles and routes according to their availability and qualifications.
- Ensure full fleet utilization and maximize the utilization of legal driving times by planning and scheduling the transportation of goods efficiently and effectively.
- Evaluate the feasibility of a trip and provide drivers with accurate and timely information on the loading and unloading locations, distances, routes, traffic, weather, and other factors that may affect the transportation.
- Oversee the loading and unloading process and ensure that the goods are handled safely and securely, and that the documentation is complete and accurate.
- Optimize the routes and suggest alternative routes or solutions in case of delays, accidents, road closures, or other emergencies.
- Report waiting times and monitor the progress and status of the drivers and vehicles throughout the transportation process.
- Oversee diesel refueling and ensure that the drivers follow the company’s policies and procedures for fuel consumption and maintenance.
- Manage money for road tax, fines, and parking and ensure that the drivers comply with the legal and financial requirements of the transportation.
- Handle driver escalations and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise between the drivers, customers, or authorities.
- Communicate with customers and provide them with updates, information, and assistance on the transportation of their goods.
- Oversee MOT, service, intervention, and breakdown and ensure that the vehicles are in good condition and meet the safety and quality standards of the transportation industry.
- Follow up on equipment and ensure that the drivers have the necessary tools and equipment for the transportation of goods.
- Follow POD and ensure that the drivers obtain and submit the proof of delivery documents after the transportation is completed.
- Status update for customers and ensure that the customers are satisfied with the transportation service and receive the goods on time and in good condition.
Main skills and qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role in the transportation industry.
- A thorough knowledge of the legal driving times and regulations, as well as the transportation routes and geography.
- Fluent in Romanian and English; Italian or German is an advantage.
- Proficiency in using computer software and applications, such as Microsoft Office, GPS, and dispatching systems.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitasking and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to details, data accuracy and quality.
- High flexibility and willingness to work unconventional hours during nights, weekends and holidays.
