Our globally operating company with locations in Italy (Pfalzen), Germany (Bonn and Radevormwald) and USA (Carlsbad) is involved in the development and production of hydrogen storage systems as well as systems for the generation, supply and use of hydrogen.

Main responsibilities:

As Industrial Sales Manager Europe, you are the main contact person for industrial and large commercial customers in Europe and sell hydrogen storage solutions that support companies in the energy transition, decarbonization and implementation of sustainable energy solutions. You will be responsible for processing and closing sales in the industrial and large commercial (I&C) segment.

Your tasks:

  • Representing GKN Hydrogen with a comprehensive understanding of the hydrogen storage product range for both power-to-gas and power-to-power solutions
  • Maximize sales performance by leveraging industry contacts and connections to gain quick insight into potential sales opportunities and match the customer’s needs with the hydrogen storage offering
  • Identify, develop and articulate customer needs and develop solutions on how our hydrogen storage solutions can fulfill them
  • Adjust sales strategy and segment focus based on customer interactions and contract wins in the field
  • Work closely with the Application Engineering department to develop and create implementation proposals
  • Communication interface with customers for product, proposal, pricing and other information
  • Meeting monthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas
  • Collecting customer feedback and updating sales opportunities in CRM
  • Preparing sales forecasts, maintaining the CRM and reporting at regular sales meetings
  • Gathering market information from prospects, customers and industry partners and reporting accordingly

What you bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or technical field or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 to 8 years of success in closing sales contracts in the energy storage or renewable energy market segments
  • Knowledge of distributed generation, hydrogen technologies and clean energy solutions
  • Knowledge of energy industry regulations that enable the sale of energy storage and renewable energy products
  • The ability to understand customer financial models and financial decision criteria
  • Understanding and researching consumer needs
  • Strong sales and business acumen
  • Ideally, you have knowledge of project management
  • Willingness to travel
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of presenting at industry events and to clients
  • Flexible and creative problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German, additional language skills are an advantage
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, CRM, HubSpot
